Draft Concept

Our Draft Tournaments bring a fresh new concept to your hockey experience. Teams are drafted for the weekend and all teams will have similar skill levels, making for a competitive and balanced tournament. You can sign up by yourself or with a group of friends. Everyone will have a new team, and you might be playing with your friends or against them. This is a chance to meet new people and not have to worry about organizing an entire team for a tournament.

It begins with a draft party before the tournament begins. All players are put into draft rounds of similar ability based on the registration form and league awareness of the players ability. At the draft party the team GMs (Goalies) randomly draw the team they will be playing for over the course of the tournament. Then a competition amongst the goalies will determine the first round draft order.

Every player is placed into a draft round and the rounds are random, not in order of ability level. Players are selected by their new team in draft and come up to receive their team jerseys, which are yours to keep. Each round a new draft order is determined with a competition by the previous round’s selections. As you are drafted to a team you will sit at the team’s table and bond with your new teammates and help make the next selections. Once the teams are complete a competition determines the order for the teams to choose their schedule for the tournament... want to sleep in? Your team better preform well.

The team building experience begins at the draft party and makes for a fun and competitive tournament of hockey and socializing!!
